Microsoft Office Word (Refresher)

This course advances users from the early stages of word processing and assumes a fundamental familiarity with Microsoft Windows software.
The general navigational skills will be demonstrated and practiced in Microsoft Word and the skills and knowledge acquired can be transferred and applied to other Microsoft programmes such as Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Attendees will learn to use the toolbars and menu systems to their best advantage and gain a fast, practical knowledge of the powerful features of the package. Becoming more proficient in the use of the software will save valuable time and empower users to efficiently produce a wide range of differing documents to the highest standard.

Managing Information and Data

This course assumes some familiarity with a spreadsheet application. We will briefly review efficient use of menus and tool bars, the layout and efficient navigation techniques fundamental to newer versions of Microsoft Office and then quickly advance to include detailed coverage of additional features. These will include methods for faster and more accurate data entry, and apply appropriate Data Validation rules to speed-up data entry and improve accuracy.
We will also consider some simple formulae to perform basic calculations and consider additional tools to sort and filter lists and assist in summarising and analysing data. Create and modify graphs/charts in Excel.
This course will very much emphasis tools for managing information and making better use of existing data. It will also consolidate the relationship between spreadsheets and digital marketing. For instance how to create spreadsheets by extracting data from other sources such as LinkedIn contacts (up-to-date and current information). Extracting, editing, sorting and filtering to produce mailing lists to keep in touch with colleagues or clients. Exporting data from a spreadsheet to an email contact system, to a database or free online services such as surveys, questionnaires, event invitations or marketing campaigns.

This course is not for beginners. You should have a firm grasp of the basics before taking this training course.
By the conclusion of the workshop, you will have mastered some of the more advanced features and functions of this software.
More advanced formulae including Absolute Cell References; If and VlookUp functions and Defining and using Names in formulae. Linking cells in multiple worksheets or separate spreadsheets. Introduction to Pivot Tables.
Working files are included to allow you to follow along with examples used in the workshop and additional files supplied for practise exercises.
