Computer Skills for Teachers

Helping professionals embrace technology:

We work with teachers, lecturers, administration and support staff on a whole range of IT related matters. Training is delivered in the comfort and convenience of your work place, with access to your personal files to ensure relevant practice and application of skills.

The heart of every educational establishment is the school office so it is imperative that it is powered by staff with up-to-date IT and electronic communication skills. When computer software is upgraded we provide a smooth transition to the new system ensuring an awareness and understanding of how the extra functionality and tools available can be used to maximum potential.

Support is available to deepen the skills and expertise of senior and middle management leaders so that they can consistently, robustly and accurately monitor the school's effectiveness.

A wide variety of departments from PE to Science have undertaken training in Microsoft Programmes using Advanced Word Skills, Excel spreadsheets and Graphs/charts and PowerPoint presentations.

Anyone organising field trips, school events or excursions, with files full of photos, and believing they've no time to make best use of them, will relish in the speed with which they can be converted into a professional presentation. Just show the students how much fun it is and they'll take care of the task for you! You'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to a display for the next open evening for potential students or parents evening for current attendees.

Careers advisors, year 11 and 13 tutors, and sixth form staff can be kept up to speed with technological advances relevant to themselves and their students. One of our most popular 2 hour workshops is 'Harnessing the power of LinkedIn'. Considering how this free website can assist staff to effectively and efficiently develop a contact base which will be invaluable when searching for work placements, finding apprenticeships and employment opportunities. There is also an overview of how both staff and students can create an enhanced online cv and join groups and discussions to empower professional development. There is a separate workshop covering how Twitter can be used to research and find employment opportunities.

Whatever your IT aspirations we are here to listen and support you in a professional and friendly manner.

Please contact us to check availability on staff training days, CPD twilight sessions and during year 11 and 13 study leave.

Group training, works out at an amazingly low price of £20 per head for 2 hours of training, when 12 staff have a 2 hour session charged at only £120 per hour.

One-to-One tuition is also available.

Thank you very much for presenting to our Year 13 students yesterday. The feedback from the students and staff has been very positive and they have greatly benefitted from your time and expertise. Social media is ever changing and having someone with your level of knowledge makes the difference between an informational presentation and a presentation that motivates students to act and market themselves appropriately. We enjoyed welcoming you to Dame Allan’s Schools and look forward to working with you again in the future.
